Key Responsibilities of Assistant Manager- IR Operations

  • Labour Relations: Negotiating with trade unions Or employee representatives to establish employment contracts and resolve disputes.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensuring all company policies comply with local labor laws, safety standards, and wage regulations.
  • Grievance Handling: Addressing and resolving employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and labor disputes with confidentiality and fairness.
  • Policy Development: Creating and implementing HR policies, disciplinary procedures, and worker welfare programs.
  • Conflict Resolution: Acting as a mediator between employees and management to maintain industrial peace.
  • Communication: Communicating management strategies to workers and vice-versa, often in local languages to ensure clarity.
  • Security Management: Plant Main gate, Material gate & CCTV room
  • Canteen Management: Canteen Committee Management, ensuring Hygiene, cleanliness and ensuring consistent service.
  • Staff and Volunteer Supervision: Training, motivating, and scheduling employees and volunteers, including safety inductions.

 

  • Compliance and Legal Monitoring: Ensuring registration under the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970, and strict adherence to statutory benefits like PF, ESI, and minimum wages.
  • Contractor Selection and Onboarding: Verifying contractor licenses, experience, and ensuring proper onboarding and safety training.
  • Payroll and Attendance Management: Maintaining accurate attendance records (muster rolls) and verifying timely payment of wages to contract staff.
  • Workplace Health & Safety: Ensuring a safe environment, including providing proper safety equipment (PPE) and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Performance Tracking & Grievance Handling: Monitoring productivity and addressing issues to avoid labor disputes.
