Job Specification

 

The Chief Engineer Quality is a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring product quality, reliability, and safety from design through lifecycle sustenance. This role leads critical component approvals, ECN–ECO governance, DFMEA/PQCS activities, and provides expert technical guidance across R&D, CS&Q, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing.

The position supports both current product improvements and future innovation in Inverters, UPS, Solar systems, and power conversion technologies.

 

Qualification/ Personal Attributes

Qualifications:

Education

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Power Electronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of electronic engineering fundamentals, schematics, passive and inductive component design.
  • In-depth knowledge of power conversion topologies (AC‑DC, DC‑DC, DC‑AC, resonant, SMPS).
  • Understanding of digital control / embedded electronics is beneficial.
  • Experience with innovative or cutting‑edge digital/power product development is a plus.

 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. ECN–ECO Management & Component Approval

  • Lead and approve all Engineering Change Notices / Orders (ECN–ECO) for critical components.
  • Validate electronic parts based on product application fit, reliability evaluation, and mission profile requirements.
  • Ensure robust documentation and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

2. Product Design Quality Integration

  • Engage in early-stage product design to embed quality, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
  • Review and approve product specifications before Series 5 maturity phase.
  • Ensure design-output alignment with customer needs and application conditions.

3. DFMEA & PQCS Leadership

  • Lead or co-drive DFMEA with product design teams.
  • Drive the structured implementation of PQCS (Product Quality Control Specification) for new product
  • Identify potential risks and implement preventive design actions.

4. Cross-Functional Technical Support

  • Support CS&Q OQL/CE teams with deep technical analysis to ensure correct solutions for field and quality escalations.
  • Provide expert guidance on product failures, corrective actions, and validation strategies.

5. Supplier Expertise & Process Audits

  • Serve as SME for supplier process audits for components such as EMS, inductive parts, passive components, and electronic
  • Assess supplier maturity, process capability, and component robustness.

6. Product Sustenance & Innovation

  • Support continuous improvements in recently released products as part of the R&D and CS&Q collaboration model.
  • Contribute to long-term innovation and technology roadmaps in power conversion and embedded digital control.
  • Inspire technical innovation and mentor engineers across the organization.
