The Certification Leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product certification and lab testing processes, ensuring that the company’s products, including Solar PV Panels, Solar Inverters, Solar Batteries, Lithium Batteries, and related products, meet national and international standards. This role involves managing certifications such as BIS, UL, IEC, and coordinating with relevant testing agencies to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Certification Management
Lead and manage the certification processes for Inverters, Solar PV Panels, Solar Inverters, Solar Batteries, Lithium Batteries, and related products.
Ensure compliance with certification standards like BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), BEE, ISO 9001 and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of certification requirements and changes in standards.
Collaborate with internal teams and external testing agencies to conduct necessary product tests and validations.
Analyse test results and implement necessary changes to meet certification standards.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all products comply with applicable regulatory requirements and certification standards in various markets.
Liaise with government agencies, certification bodies, and other stakeholders to facilitate product approvals and certifications.
Monitor and report on changes in regulations and standards that impact the company’s products.
Lead Audits of Design team for the ISO.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to certifications, including applications, test reports, and compliance certificates.
Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of certification processes, risks, and compliance issues.
Ensure all certification-related records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Lead and manage a team of certification and compliance specialists.
Provide guidance, training, and support to the team to ensure effective management of certification processes.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in certification and testing practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for certification bodies and regulatory agencies.
Communicate certification requirements and status updates effectively to internal teams and external partners.
Represent the company in discussions with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other external entities.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
Certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) or related fields are preferred.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of SAP
Minimum Experience
Minimum 15-20 years of experience in certification and compliance roles, preferably within the renewable energy or electronics sector.
Extensive knowledge of BIS, UL, IEC standards, and other relevant certifications.
Proven experience with product certification and testing processes for Solar PV Panels, Inverters, Batteries, and related products.
Skill
Strong understanding of national and international certification standards.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
