We are seeking an experienced Solar Cell R&D Engineer with specialized expertise in thin film technologies to join our team and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. This role is critical to our N-Type TOPCon solar cell production initiatives, focusing on scaling manufacturing processes, optimizing cell efficiency, and establishing comprehensive quality control systems.

Qualification/ Personal Attributes
Education & Experience
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 3+ years of experience in photovoltaic device development
Proven track record in thin film solar cell technologies
Experience with TOPCon, PERC, or heterojunction solar cell architectures
Knowledge of surface passivation mechanisms and materials
Experience with process optimization and statistical analysis
Familiarity with clean room operations and semiconductor manufacturing
Ability to design and analyze design of experiments (DOE)

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Development
Lead the production ramp-up of N-Type TOPCon solar cells from pilot to commercial scale
Optimize thin film deposition processes including PECVD, ALD, and sputtering techniques
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance cell efficiency and yield
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer
Laboratory Setup & Management
Design and establish R&D laboratory infrastructure for solar cell development
Select and procure advanced characterization equipment and tools
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations
Ensure laboratory compliance with safety and quality standards
Manage laboratory budget and resource allocation
Quality Control & Inspection Systems
Implement in-line quality control systems for production monitoring
Develop inspection protocols for raw materials including silicon wafers, chemicals, and consumables
Establish quality metrics and KPIs for production processes
Design and execute failure analysis procedures
Create quality documentation and reporting systems
Research & Development
Conduct advanced research on TOPCon cell architectures and passivation layers
Investigate novel thin film materials and deposition techniques
