Job Purpose:
To identify, evaluate, and validate alternate components for existing and new products, ensuring product performance, cost optimization, and supply continuity in line with business and engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute alternate component validation activities for electrical, electronic, and mechanical components used in product assemblies.
- Perform technical feasibility analysis and comparison between existing and alternate components.
- Define and execute validation and reliability test plans as per product and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Design, Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive validation timelines and approvals.
- Prepare detailed validation reports, data analysis, and technical justifications for component approval.
- Support VA/VE initiatives, cost reduction programs, and component localization projects.
- Ensure compliance to design specifications, reliability standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain documentation for change control, test data traceability, and validation records.
- Support supplier discussions for component technical evaluation and capability verification.
- Mentor team members on validation methodology and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering (as applicable)
- Experience: 6–10 years in R&D, Component Engineering, Product Validation, or Supplier Quality functions
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of component engineering and qualification standards
- Familiarity with electrical/electronic testing, reliability assessment, and failure analysis
- Proficiency in data analysis, report preparation, and validation documentation
