Job Description – Executive (EHS)

Role Purpose

To ensure effective implementation of EHS systems, statutory compliance, safety processes, and risk‑mitigation measures for safe operations at the Angul manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor all EHS systems as per statutory requirements and company standards.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and permit‑to‑work (PTW) audits.
• Ensure compliance with OSH Code, Factories Act guidelines, pollution control norms, fire safety norms, and environmental regulations.
• Support incident reporting, root cause analysis (RCA), and closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety trainings, induction programs, and awareness sessions for employees and contract workforce.
• Monitor contractor safety compliance, PPE usage, and adherence to safety procedures at site.
• Coordinate statutory inspections, audits, renewals, and documentation as per compliance calendar.
• Ensure safety readiness during machine installation, commissioning, and production start‑up phases.
• Maintain EHS records, MIS reports, and support ISO/IMS/OHS audits.
• Assist in emergency preparedness, mock drills, and implementation of fire protection measures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Industrial Safety or equivalent.
• Mandatory: Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety (Govt. approved).
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering/chemical/battery industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of EHS statutory requirements and shop‑floor safety practices.

• Knowledge of PTW, LOTO, fire safety systems, and hazard management.
• Ability to conduct safety trainings and safety audits.
